New technology today

  One of the new and upcoming technology advancements is called Google Glass. Augmented Reality has already gotten into our life in different forms, but Google is taking it a step further with Google Glass. With Google Glass, you are able to view social media feeds, text, Google Maps, as well as navigate with GPS and take photos. A product that fits into a pair of sunglasses. It sounds handy but there can be negatives to it. Who is to say someone with this technology won't just go around taking unsolicited pictures of people they walk past, this could lead to stalking and other things. People may also be too busy focusing on their surroundings and create dangerous settings and situations for themselves.

Creative video

This is my creative video. I took the idea of creating new sounds like what people used to do and made my own sounds using daily objects that I found in my room. It was hard to get a good beat but in the videos we saw in class people in the past would just make one sound at a time, in my video I created different sounds and played them at the same time to make create more of a music feel to the sounds.

My Stop Motion Movie

Here is the link to my flip book. It is supposed to be copying there video game fortnite where you travel around the map and try to place first out of 100 others. The flip book was hard for me because I am not very good at drawing and it was a challenge to create it. I had other ideas that I would have liked to do instead but once I had though of them it was too late and I was already far into this one. I ran into problems with filling up the page and I tried to adjust and make it bigger towards the end. I could not get the video to flip it only stayed sideways and the music playing in the background is the fortnite theme song.

-A synthesizer is used to create different sounds it looks like a keyboard and is common in most or all disco music, Gloria Gaynor was one of the most popular disco artists and is still popular today with hit songs such as I Will Survive.

-Autotune is seemingly one of Bad Bunny's favorite instruments and technology. He blends his latin background with rap to create a new wave of latin music that is spreading like wildfire. He has become very popular in recent months and autotune has helped him reach that mark.

-Kurt Cobain, one of the most famous musicians of all time used the fender guitar often in his band Nirvana. In multiple songs you can hear him playing the fender guitar with a unique sound, it added an extra depth to the bands famous nineties music.

-Marshmello is one of the hottest DJ's of the generation with his unique look and collaborations with big name stars he has risen to fame quickly. His digital audio workstation is where he creates and plays his music in a iconic way, in a genre that most music sounds the same Marshmello finds a way to stand out.

-For a group that has been around for a long time, swedish house mafia continues to be a top name in the house music genre. The keyboard is one of their main instruments they use when creating their music. The trio considers themselves electronic house music and the keyboard helps put them in that category.

xerox project

This is my Xerox project. It is showing the life an addict. All addictions start with your hands it is what feeds the drugs and alcohol into your body. My uncle recently passed away from an addiction with alcohol and I used that to create this project. It starts with the back which is a "family tree" of hands. It represents the one major problem which is fed by your hand and then leads down to smaller problems which are also the cause of your hands. The words around it are words and phrases that are used to describe drugs and alcohol and the people that use them. The side is representing the middle of an addiction because it is a heart which represents love given from the family and the "ok" sign which is them insisting it will be ok. The bottom on the back is the end of an addiction where someone dies the hands represent angels wings, the face floating represents the soul leaving and the hand is coming down grabbing them to take them away. There are more words on the front that describe life after death. The bottom of the box says "Hands feed addiction" because that is the main point in the project.

Performance Art Video

This is the link to my performance art piece. It is showing the ridiculousness of the green parties idea to "fight"global warming by limiting travel such as planes and cars to compensate for cows farting too much. The idea of "Eat more cows, they fart too much" is showing that the simple solution to this could be to eat more cows so there is less methane from their farts. Living in a place like America where red meat is a popular food choice it makes a funny joke out of the situation. I showed myself wearing a cow mask and doing everyday things because I am trying to dramatize the fact of what happens if cows live and keep farting vs if cows were consumed more.

what I think about robots

I think robots can have a helpful use in military. Robots have the ability to do the same tasks in military operations without humans ever having to get involved. This would allow for humans to not have to risk their lives and would prevent human error. People would never have to be near the battlefield because robots can be controlled from far away. Robots that are being used for daily life are not a good idea in my mind, I think humans as a population are getting lazy and with the addition of robots it makes people have to do even less. Robots are also being able to do jobs that humans do already which could take away jobs in the future and people will start losing money if a robot takes their job. I do not think robots are a good idea to be implemented into society, I think military use robots are a good idea however so that people do not have to risk their lives.

performance art piece

Title: The Green Party Global Warming?
Description: The idea of the video is showing that the Green Party is having a crazy idea on how to fight global warming by stopping common modes of transportation such as cars or planes because cows fart too much and release methane from the fart. In the video I choose to make fun of that idea.
Purpose: To teach and show the audience the ideas people are having to "combat" global warming and to show how not every idea in politics has to be supported. I also want to make fun of the idea because I think something like that could never be done but at the same time it should not be an idea that gets carried out.
Why: I think the idea is ridiculous in America it is common that many people will eat meat, especially that that comes from cows, which fits into the idea of "Eat more cows, they fart too much." I like to express my ideas and this is a very recent topic that is coming up in the news but I do not think it is talked about enough so to make a video of it and show a small group of impact would be beneficial.
What: I am going to go to Publix and put the pictures I made on the meat and then I am also going to use the cow mask and walk around making farting noises to add a comedic purpose to the video but it also is to show how ridiculous it is.
How:I will take the pictures and add them into a video and show the process of making and printing the props then show pictures and add video clips to make a good short video.
Props: I am going to use a cow mask, and some pictures and posters that I printed out in order to share the idea. The pictures and posters are just to be funny but it also has a serious idea behind it because it is making fun of the idea.

Old technology influence today

The generic wheel is an old technology from the past that will have a major impact in the future. Today we see companies like Tesla and Toyota building electric cars but in the future we may see some type of new car technology such as the flying car, something similar to the Delorean from Back To The Future 2 is what I imagine a flying car would be like. I think this technology is not far away from being put into production and will be in the near future and there will be a point when a company finally makes it happen, especially like company giants such as Tesla headed by Elon Musk who is arguably one of the smartest people alive today.

Artist vs. Inventor

An artist is someone who puts their own imagination and feelings into a piece of work they create. An inventor is someone who makes an original idea reality that has never been seen or been made before. They are both creating something they imagine in their minds but the purpose of the piece they make has different uses in the end.

Hamburger skittles art

I created a hamburger out of my skittles. I used a red background so it was dark and the other colors in the burger would stand out. It was difficult to line the skittles up straight at first but the more I added the
easier it got to place them. going in rows was difficult but then you see how it works just like how pixels would. In the end I had to go though and straighten the skittles in each row to make sure they lined up perfectly and I did not have to use icing to get them into a perfect line and I enjoyed the process and thought it came out looking like the hamburger example I had on another paper. It was frustrating to try to get the skittles perfect because no skittle is the exact same shape but I think it came out nice and I am pleased with the final product.

Broadway performance

My favorite performance was Michael Buble. He is very well known for his music especially during Christmas time where everyone is listening to his music. He is one of the more recent performers that was shown on the website and the background he has and the performance he gives is a lot more up to date compared to some of the others such as Liza Menelli's performance where she just has a colored curtain and some back up dancers behind her. The website shows a lot of different performances but the newest is the one with Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns and I thought she did a very good job with portraying Mary Poppins and that video shows how the "broadway" arts has transferred over into movies.

The Carolina Chocolate Drops

I thought the movie was very well put together. I thought going in that it was going to be very boring but it was actually interesting to see it all play out. I also thought that the venue was going to be showing multiple short videos and not a movie so that part was unexpected.

Video review

 I thought that "The Black Hole" was very creative and had a very different ending then what I was expecting. It did not make sense why they made it so eery and dark. I think that they should have taken the idea and turned it more into a comedy. That is what I thought was going to happen after the vending machine scene.

 I think the "Alternative Math"film takes the new concept that kids should always be told they are doing things right and everyone gets a trophy and turns it into a joke. I thought it was funny that they included news clips into the clip that talked about the teacher being out of control. I feel this is how the world actually is and that parents will stop at nothing to make sure their kids are right.

 In the comedy sketch I was waiting the whole time for something to happen it felt very long and there should have been more dialogue but the ending was funny and unexpected when everybody got up and ran after the money.

 The CNN video was cool to see how the video was projected onto the museum. The food fight video was cool because you were able to see every motion of the food and the seaweed video was strange because it did not look like seaweed but it was also strange how he was able to edit the video to keep his arms moving as if it was a piece of seaweed moving.

Madam Butterfly clip

   I thought the video was well done, the claymation is hard to do and there was a lot of scenes that payed attention to every detail. I thought that it was very odd especially the parts where the mother and daughter fly each other around like kites. The story is sad but it is easy to follow what happens throughout it all. The part where the mother disassembles herself is disturbing because she pulls her body apart and then cuts off her limbs and floats away into the wind. The video overall was well done and was creative in using dolls and clay along with other elements but I found it disturbing and would probably not watch it again because of that.

Interview with Raul Cuero

   What I got from watching the interview with Dr.Raul Cuero is that you can do anything you put your mind do and if you try hard enough to do something you will do it. Life is all about how you perceive nature, I agree that everyone in todays world spends too much time on their electronics. 
   Dr.Cuero made it clear that people are not communicating with each other face to face anymore and that is an important skill that people need to be successful in life and at their jobs/school. Good ideas take time and you can not just come up with it, there is a process. Having mentors in life is important because it gives you different perspectives and different people to look up to and all mentors each give you a different perspective in life.
   He adds that students today are lacking their own special creative touch because they just follow instructions and do not go interact with nature enough to gain their own creative ways. He also states how the electronic problem goes deeper and involves family, where people are not communicating with their family members anymore.
   I think every point he makes is true and I see the electronic issue everyday just walking around campus. I find it inspiring that someone that came from so little gained so much by taking risks and trying his best to do what he loved and aspired to be in life. He has many personal philosophies that stretch into my own life as well.
